What I built
Architected a MERN + React Native ecosystem — independent web and mobile apps for both end users and admins, all sharing one Node.js/Express REST API and Socket.IO server, with JWT, OTP, and Google OAuth2 authentication.
Built AI-powered landmark recognition combining Google Vision and TextRazor to identify historical sites from an uploaded photo or GPS location, returning verified descriptions plus nearby places via the Google Places API.
Engineered a real-time social layer on Socket.IO — group and private chat with typing indicators and call signaling, a post/status feed with likes and comments, and a recommendation engine ranking destinations against user interests, travel history, and time available.
Integrated a Google Gemini-powered chatbot for conversational travel Q&A, alongside a community-driven 'Suggest a Place' flow for local contributors to submit new landmarks and tips for review.
Delivered a full admin panel (web + mobile) with content moderation queues, user management, Recharts analytics dashboards, IP-tracked security logs, and broadcast notifications — backed by node-cron jobs for cleanup and automated backups.
Authored the complete Software Design Specification — use case, sequence, activity, ER, and component diagrams — translating requirements from three user roles (Tourist, Local Contributor, Admin) into a documented technical architecture.
